Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was established under the Private University Act in the year 2003 modelled on North American Universities, with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. It was founded by Dhaka Commerce College, Mirpur- 2, Dhaka, and is managed by a Board of Trustees and a Syndicate. BUBT is one of the leading universities in the private sector of Bangladesh. It has been providing quality education and training since its very inception. At present BUBT has established itself as a top ranking Private University in the country, not only by fulfilling all of the requirements of the Private University Act, 2010, but also by maintaining the standard of education, research facilities, transparent examination system, updated academic programs, necessary physical infrastructures, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, modern facilities for the students and a disciplined environment.

Hall Room

The university has two spacious Hall rooms in its permanent campus. One is situated on the 5th floor and the newly built one is on the 9th floor. The hall rooms are organized with all the modern facilities. Different seminars, symposiums, workshops, training sessions, general meetings, etc. are arranged in hall rooms. Besides, job fair, project fair, Baishakhi Mela, robotic challenge show, performance of drama, cultural programs, and many other activities also take place here. The fully air-conditioned hall rooms also have wifi facility. It is also equipped with large digital screen and modern sound system facilities for the use in different programs.

Cafeteria 

Both the campuses of BUBT have well spacious cafeteria with necessary facilities. Both the cafeteria have well organized sitting and food arrangements for the students. Besides, it has Teachers’ Lounge for the faculty members where they can have their snacks and lunch and read newspapers as well. Different kinds of snacks including fast food and traditional foods are available in BUBT cafeteria. Besides, breakfast and lunch are also available here. All the food items are highly hygienic and are monitored regularly by the authority. Besides, the food items are also available with minimum price.

Both the cafeterias are air-conditioned and have high speed wifi facility. Besides, it has separate newspaper reading facilities for the teachers and students. It has indoor games facilities for the students such as, table tennis, badminton, chess, ludu, etc. The cafeteria remains open for the students from 8.30am to 9.00 pm. Students and all others are to follow the rules and regulation of the cafeterias for ensuring its smooth operations, cleanliness, and other security measures.

Prayer Room

Both permanent campus and campus-2 of BUBT have separate prayer rooms for males and females. All the prayer rooms of both the campuses are well decorated with air-condition and other necessary facilities. The gentle and sound environments of the rooms are favorable for performing prayer. In permanent campus, room no: 214 is used as prayer room for the males where teachers, students, officers, staffs, and others perform their prayer. In campus-2, the prayer room for males is located on the first floor. Besides, room no: 310(A) in permanent campus and room no: 202 in campus-2 are used as prayer rooms for females.

Class Room

All the classrooms in both the campuses of BUBT are well furnished and well equipped with technological aid like multimedia. Every student uses separate desk and chair which ensures individual access facilities. The state of the art technology of classrooms has ensured the perfect educational atmosphere. All the classrooms are air-conditioned for maintaining balanced temperature inside the rooms. Multimedia facilities enforce better teaching learning environment. Over head projector and sound system help both teachers and students to discuss and understand lectures better. Spacious classrooms have sufficient capacity for students to enjoy sound environment which is a prerequisite for establishing concentration in class.

Common Room

BUBT has common room facilities for the use of students and employees outside class hours. The University has separate male and female common rooms in both the campuses. All the air-conditioned common rooms are well furnished with sufficient equipment and furniture which have created hospitable environment for its users. These rooms have rest and other facilities during the break time. Moreover, the common rooms have newspapers facilities and arrangements of different indoor games as well. In Permanent campus the male common room is situated in 1st floor beside the cafeteria whereas, room no. 311 is used as the female common room. Besides, in campus-2, the male common room is also situated on the 1st floor beside the cafeteria and the female common room is in room no. 202.

Study Room

Study room is a great inclusion for any university. BUBT has study rooms for its students. Students can study there. They can also use these rooms for their group study/work, project discussion, assignment / presentation preparation, etc. The uninterrupted environment helps the students in their academic activities. The rooms maintain congenial atmosphere with air condition and other necessary facilities. In permanent campus the reading room is on the 4th floor and in campus-2 it is on the 3rd floor.

Playground 

BUBT has a spacious central playground at Beribadh, Mirpur, adjacent to its permanent campus. It includes a high-class cricket venue. Students can also play football, badminton and other outdoor sports in that ground.
